Killroy, I can relate to your complaint about your prescriptions being lost or with held by the USPS. Here in St. Louis, they are the worse. My neighbors have joined me in going paperless. That doesn't help the scripts. On that count, I have all my scripts sent to a specific CFS pharmacy, and then pick them up from the CVS when ready. That way, no 'shipping' agent gets their hands on them.

Robo calls are automated and usually go in sequence. All computerized.
When answered, it switches over to a person, having a telltale click.

Wish I could do that. Our pharmacy is contracted by the Department of Defense. Only way we can use a local/civilian pharmacy, and them pay, is an emergency issue or the 1st month of a new to us drug.

I have my iPhone set to not "ring or vibrate" whenever an incoming caller is not in my contact list. If it is an important legitemate caller, the caller can leave a message and I will decide whether to return their call or not. I still see the number of the call as a missed call, but am not bothered by it in any way.

Same here. Even if the number isn't recognized by caller ID, if I don't know it, I don't answer.

I get one spam call a day from Nikki Haley. Luckily my T-Mobile spam app deals with it. BTW political ads are exempt from the "Do Not Call" list.

Another reason to dump them all.

I would say "Especially if Caller ID doesn't recognize the number," or even worse, if only a city is identified as the caller. Those are almost sure to be calls you don't want, whereas sometimes the non-caller ID numbers are from people you do know but haven't set up caller IDs for one reason or another, such as they don't know how to do that.

Make lemonade out of lemons by saying, "I'm not interested, but would you like to buy insurance for your life, home, and auto?"😁

The problem any more is the dirty ba$tards cause fake numbers to show up on the ID. We called back one number, figuring we’d give them a bit of their own medicine but instead we got a vet hospital three states away. Or local numbers show up on the ID and it’s some dick in India calling. Funny how all the telemarketers in India are named Bill, Joe, Bob, etc.

I have found NoMoRobo helps. It doesn’t get them all, but does get a decent portion. If the number is in their data base (which you can add numbers into), it intercepts the call after the 1st ring and plays a message which allows legitimate callers to get through by dialing a code. The best part is it’s free for home phones ($1.99/mo for cellphones last I checked), so if your phone or VOIP service supports it (Spectrum does), certainly worth trying.

if the name doesn't come up from my contact list, I don't answer. They can leave a message and I'll see if I want to talk to them. But they don't leave a message which is even better.

I will answer sometimes and when they tell me they can help me I tell themok.they will ask if I have Medicare part A & B.i tell them all I have is part A so they tell me they can't help me. I tell them that I stopped what I was doing and they told me they could help me now you are telling me you can't help me.they apologize and say they will take me off their call list.

Caller ID is basically worthless as it can be easily spoofed, especial with VOIP calls.

True…but I’ve never gotten a telemarketer/robocall from a number I recognized. So I don’t pick up.

Actually, I have moved to FL from WI and they try to get me to pick up with a WI area code. No one from WI is going to call me.
