Everyday we would get fifteen or more robo telemarketer calls. December 23 it all stopped and we haven't gotten one since. I'm not complaining, that's for sure, I just wonder if anyone else has been as lucky as us?

I go with Jonathan Winters of late, I answer the phone and the caller asks, may they speak to Tim. I answer, "He is deceased", then I hang up.

I have a telemarketer robocall blocking device on my line and have signed-up for the do not call service and have nomorobo. I still get a lot more calls than I want.

The US Congress and the Executive branch could do a lot more to regulate those calls. I wish I could forward all the annoying calls to my US Congress Representative's office. If everyone did that their lines wouldn't be able to handle it. Then, something would be done to stop this. My guess is that they would pass a law punishing those who forwarded those calls. The sleezy Bas****s really only care about themselves.

I also believe the telephone companies could do more buy they don't respect their customers enough to do-so. If some phone company would screen and eliminate those calls, I would switch to them in a heartbeat.

My phone identify "scam likely" phone calls. There is not a whole lot the phone companies can do about it. Scammer can spoof phone numbers using computers.

Mine does too, but they don’t provide a method to block those calls, damnit.

If I get a call while I am eating dinner I wait for a liver perso. Then I ask for their home phone number and ask when they are eating dinner.

I got a call yesterday from a person representing herself as a fraud prevention person from my bank. She told me that there has been fraudulent activity involving my credit cards. She gave me the first five digits of my cards. I requested that she give me the expiration dates and last four card number digits and she wouldn't.

I was suspicious and told her I was ending the call and would place a call to my bank using the number on my card. She strongly argued against that. I did hang-up and called my bank.

The bank representative told me that there had been no illicit activity and my cards were fine. If you ever get a call from your bank, inform the caller that you are ending the call. Then call the bank using their published phone number.

Don't call the number given by the original caller. You might just be returning a call to the fraudster.

While my calls, from people wanting to sign me up for a health insurance plan, had gone up to 6 or 8 a day… I just realized I have not received any of these in a couple of days… a relief. Usually I just don’t answer but when I get more than 2 or 3 calls in an hour I answer and shout till they hang up. I realize these people need a job but they would harass and try to sell to elderly that don’t need it… so I do vent sometimes.

I am in their “on Medicare” target audience but being both retired military and 100% Permanent/Total disabled with VA… I am not in need of insurance… not that wouldn’t sell it to me if they could.

Health-wise, what the wife and I need is reliable delivery of prescription meds to the correct mailbox and not loosing them in the post office for several days.
While my calls, from people wanting to sign me up ... (show quote)

If you get a call and speak with them, say that you have been meaning to talk with someone about their offering and that you are pleased they called, then suddenly say, Ohhh, can you hold please, then put the phone down and go about your day.

lf I get a call asking for a name, I tell them I'm detective XYZ from homicide, at a crime scene and I ask them what is their relationship to the deceased? I tell them not to hang up because their number is being traced, as we speak.
