Seen about a half dozen of those around here in TX.....looks like it would take 400hp just to move?

There are a number of them around the country, being tested in various conditions. I think 400hp is a good number.

At $600,00 how do you make a profit ..

A new John Deere combine is about $600,000, so I guess some can aford it (or they rent it or share one for harvest).

That is a lot for just a tractor, though.

Indeed they have. We bought our last new one in 1965; it was the same price as a new Thunderbird--somewhere under $7000.

My farmer tilling my field with a $600,000 experimental John Deere tractor that's not yet in production. It is on loan from John Deere testing wear and tear before being offered on the market. I rode with him for a while, and this is the smoothest riding, quietest tractor I have ever driven or ridden in. Everything is automatic, of course.

It is a cool tractor.

You must have some very good soil--heavy loom and sand--since there is no extra weight needed on the cultivator to make it dig in. lOr does the tractor r9ovide some necessary torque to keep the cultivator blades in the ground?

Thanks, Richard, it is indeed a cool machine. The tiller does its own thing, no down assist from the tractor. The tilling machine is also experimental; JD is trying to develop it to be pulled at 10 mph with efficient results. My guy was running about 7.7 mph.

I doubt that Tractor will have trouble on any type of terrain John.
