Hey, John.

I always appreciate you commenting. I have one question. Was you granddaughter even visible sitting atop that massive creature?

Happy new year, fellow.

You know these Clydesdale horses are big from seeing them on TV, etc. When you're standing 10 feet away from one, they are darn near frightening. I caught this scene at Daytona's infamous " Bike Week "

That fellow in the first shot walking along with the horses and carrying something blue in his hand...those are pooper bags in case they are needed. I'm surprised that he's not pushing a wheelbarrow, considering the number and size of these horses.

Horses of any breed are beautiful animals! I’m surprised they aren’t fitted with “diapers” when they are on parade. Nice shots, BTW,

Stan

Hi, Kathy.

Good Lord, can you imagine how much that would hurt.

I hope the coming year will be a great one for you.

Hey, Earnest.

My father, while a teenager, broke wild horses for the U.S. Sugar Corp. down in south Florida. A couple of years of doing that convinced him that his future lied in some other endeavor. He jumped into the business world and did very well. He once told me that he had little tolerance for people who complained about how tough it is to make a living...that they didn't know what tough was all about.

I hope the coming year will be a good one for you.

Wonderful shots.
I noticed something that surprised me. Don't know how many others would notice this. Horses of any breed with white "sox" or "stockings" often get the white hair above the hoof mud stained. Years ago, I visited the Clydesdales and the manager told me how to get rid of those stains (I had a white horse as you can see) The end of the tail is usually stained too but Clydes don't have that program. What he told me got rid of the stains and my horse's feet and tail were beautiful. In these pictures, I see mud stains "feathered" feet. I can't even imagine that. They used to keep them stark white when they went on tour.

Hi, Sylvia. Thanks for commenting.

I trust you had a good journey home. Spending time over here with friends and all is special, I'm sure. But getting back home is special too. I'm anxiously waiting to see some of the spectacular art you create with your camera.

Stay safe.

The journey home was very straight forward and yes it’s always great to be back home. Unfortunately I picked up covid from the plane! So all Christmas festivals were put on hold. Hope you and yours have a Happy New Year Tom.

Tom, I've read through all of the responses you've gotten on this posting and noticed how many people are impressed with the imposing size of these Clydesdales. I remembered that I had taken some pictures of oxen a few years ago that had the same effect on people watching them. I just posted a topic "More Gentle Giants" that was inspired by your posting. If you haven't seen it, you might enjoy checking it out.
