With respect, shouldn't the line read, IF you get the small stuff right, the big stuff never happens?

NO. If the "small stuff" details are done right, the big stuff happens as planned.
Good project managers understand the concept of beginning with the end in mind. It's a process of clearly defining goals. Once we know what we need to do, and why we need to do it, only then do we walk backwards from the end β the defined goals β building an outline of steps we need to take from start to finish. Then we fill in the details for each step. When ready, we work the plan.
Fully half of any successful project is planning. It's all about not forgetting the early stage things that are necessary to happen so that the late stage things work correctly. It's an ongoing, iterative process that requires constant brainstorming, problem solving, communications, evaluation, redirecting, measuring progress, and refining, to be sure. But the better the up front planning and the deeper you plan for the details, the better the outcome.

Absolutely correct - well said! If you expect to deliver results that meet expectations on time, then planning and execution of small steps are critical for success. I worked in an industry where every quarter, past results were reviewed, measured and analyzed, a new plan was created with (large) strategic goals and (small) tactical steps were defined along with dates for accomplishment, and the result was success (or termination). Planning and execution is everything.

Seems like this string of posts has drifted far from the original question.

It's UHH, where some of us are freeform thinkers who connect everything to everything else, sooner or later. That's how people learn to be creative.

There is that, too. If you aren't paying attention, you can get your head whipped around pretty quickly.

UHH threads are great examples of the random walk concept.

What category of photo subject matter should main gallery be reserved to show?
Good question. I've posted pictures that have been moved to Chit-Chat. I guess they weren't good enough. π€

I believe there are rules at the top of the first page of each section. Most make sense.
But, as was pointed out to me years ago, UHH is like the wild west where anything goes.
Over the years I've noticed there seem to be more and more posts, by fewer and fewer people.
We all have the choice to stay here or find a site that is serious about learning and helping others learn about photography. Learning at UHH is hit or miss with a few very helpful people.
All of us who remain at UHH are doing so by choice. It is necessary to align expectations with reality.

...and information about something changes over time,
not always for the good.
Or are you referring to astute thinkers vs. thoughts based on conjecture.

I've noticed that happen to a couple of yours.
I've had a couple moved to Photo Gallery that I hadn't posted there because it didn't seem the correct category.
I reckon this thing about "I don't want to look at ___________ pictures in the Gallery" must go along with:
You can please a few of the people some of the time,
some people you can please most of the time,
and some people you can't please any of the time.

And some people are just way too persnickety.
