I'm laughing....on the way back from photographing the owl, four grouse (partridge) were pecking at the buds in a tree. (Nope, not a pear tree!)
Thanks raymondh for looking.
WOW,WOW and more WOW, Awesome!
Oh my! Stunning bird. Beautiful pics!

How often does one get to see a Great Gray Owl? I was very lucky yesterday. It even flew right by my head. Almost could have reached out and touched it. Seriously, I was going to drop down and then it swerved.
Excellent photos!

Believe me...if I had the time right now I would play with doing that! I thought of it.
Thanks!
Amazing! Thanks for posting these.
Beautiful shots, especially the eyes on #2!
Love your photos of the Great Gray, I spent four of the coldest days of my life in 2003? or 2004?, when you had the last irruption year, they were everywhere, thrilling to see but quite sad as so many of them were starving. I heard the local pet shops ran out of mice from people feeding the owls. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas.
Simply beautiful.
