You can do that by retouching but myself I prefer to get that done in camera. If you shooting a potted or cut plant, then you ca do something simple like this to get a black background.
Light the subject and not the background. Adjusting the intensity and location of the light on the subject will allow you to accomplish that. I use flash and continuous LED panels. Even without auxiliary light you can block/and or diffuse natural light to good effect.

Use a flash with a high SS. Use the highest that is allowed by your camera. Off camera flash works best.
put the flower in light and the background in shadow, that is what you are looking for. That is why a flash works great for this. You can also do it in sunlight. Just use the fast SS tgo darken the background and expose for the flower
