The body I most enjoy using is a Nikon D7200 24mp DX. I have a few bodies including a D850 and Z9 and both have features well beyond the capabilities of the D7200, but I get a smile on my face when I can use the D7200.

I haven't moved up to a 'pro-line' yet, but I have started grabbing my D7200 ALL the time when I have shooting to do!

With the wrong camera, success is probably 99% luck. But with a mirrorless camera, it's 100% the photographer.

I would have to disagree with both those statements. I feel I can take a good photo with just about any camera so long as it's a reasonably good camera even entry level if it's by one of the big three. As far as mirrorless goes you get so many advantages that you didn't have before that good photos are easier. Can't imagine why you would say this.

I believe you have fallen victim to Paul's (CHG_Canon) tongue-in-cheek sarcastic humor... He can be very helpful, or his inside jokes can incite heated arguments.

For much of the last 15 years, there has been a lot of buzz about mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, and their advantages and disadvantages relative to dSLRs. It's almost a meme argument of sorts, like Mac vs PC or JPEG vs raw or RAW vs raw... or Ford vs Chevy.

The mirrorless are going to have all the updates. DSRs are dead, no more advances in them. But if you don't need the new advances, they are always going to be great.
People still use film cameras. Old Leica and Holga. It is all about the experience.

It really makes very little difference to me.

If DSLRs are dead and no more possible advances I guess that a person can purchase the most technologically advanced DSLR that will ever be produced. Sounds interesting.

Welcome to UHH.

CHG_CANON is a long time valuable contributor, but he likes to make humorous (sardonic? satirical? flippant?) comments. It usually is an indication that people on the thread are taking themselves too seriously.

Are you quibbling with a tongue in cheek remark that Chicago tosses out every time we have one of these discussions? You will get plenty opportunities to repeat your arguments.

Even though I spent a lot of money on a sophisticated mirrorless camera and lenses, my go-to camera still is a Lumix point and shoot ZS 200. It has a one inch sensor and takes beautiful pictures, which are fine for me as a non-professional photographer.

If I were ever to return to film photography, I would grab my Nikkormat that I bought as an underguate student 50+ years ago and dragged with me during my junior year living in Vienna.

I still shot my nikkormat a few times a year, love it, but it is hard to break the habit of looking at the back of the camera

Stepping away from comparing specs, is there a camera that you just like?

It could be ease of use, results, handling, fun to use or any of those and more. It may even be a camera that you return to even when, by some measures, it is obsolete.

My 2012 Pentax X-5 "Superzoom" 16 MP bridge camera is one. I was surprised they were still going for around $120 when most others from that time were $30.

Fast handling, easy control, but not much manual exposure options and a decent lens. It does have some visual highlight/shadow warnings that are handy in the less-than-perfect EVF. More than once I've returned to it, or rediscovered shots taken with it that I liked.

Thoughts?
Stepping away from comparing specs, is there a cam... (show quote)

My old FE2 is a jewel! Love it!

I agree with you Stroday. I upgraded from a 3200 to the 7200 a year after they came on the market. Since then I have tested the 750,850 and 500. I'll just stick with the 7200 to go with my Nikon 70-20o and Sigma 17-50.
