The true worth of a woman is not her "classic beauty" it is practical things, does she give you loving attention when the lights go very low after a sip or two or three or fore of wine with soft music? Does she cook your favorite meal, and with my "lovely widow," was she a great investor in insurance before her husband mysteriously died? I have learned to see her inner beauty.
She was honored by Wikipedia after she contributed a large sum of money.

Oh my goodness, Don, I'm beginning to fear opening your topics. Never know what might jump out!!
Dpullum, I read the link that referred to her as "the ugliest woman in the world" and her career in the sideshow circus. That was then and this is now for I've seen many a man in today's world who would surely classify as the Ugliest Woman in the World. TikTok is full of their videos.

Dear Linda, be brave, I value your input.
I have been a photographer since childhood with my Kodak Hawkeye. My first 35mm was a hock shop $10 purchase in 1960 [@$2 an hour as a professional Chemist that was a lot of money back then!! Gasoline 5 gal/dollar] It was my pocket-folding camera and went everywhere with me. One day early at the Med College, I took what appeared to be a man in an election test chair ~! Actually, it was an Airforce sponsored research on pilot ejection seat body damage. I too thousands of shots lost in a house fire in 1985.
Your "fearful" comment temps me to make the man in the chair artish with Dynamic Autopainter.
Do visit and see what DAP Aquarelle Noveau did for the Fruit Plate

Kind of a sad story. At least she was able to earn a living. What happened to her children? I'll have to research her.

veralisa, thank you for looking... yes many sad stories and still are. After retiring from industry, I taught 9th-grade science and math with a specialty in Special Education. I did not get involved with the "Profoundly Impaired" group only with the learning impaired. The "profounds" were sad examples many as a result of alcoholic or drug-addicted moms others just nature has gone array. I had 25 children each year to help learn and cope with interactions; quite a task being a parent to 25... ! I was a caring and responsible best friend to each... 16 years have passed and I still remember my 75 children.
Quiz with pick the correct answer out of 4 answers. "Now Eddy, you only need to pick the wrong 3 and the one left over is the correct one"... he understood as tho a light bulb turned on!! One of many such stories.
There was a 1932 movie called Freaks, I had a copy ... with the reference, you can go to the bottom and see the individuals by clicking on their names. As we age we all become Freaks... here is a lady with amazing arthritic hands, a man who walks across the room as tho on a tightrope with the aid of a cane, and so on... YIKES!!!!

In the 50s some carnivals had freak shows as well as 'Hoochie Coochie Girls' [HC] featuring Strip & Strut, as 10-grade boys we went to the Michigan State Fair... had to be 18 to attend the HC show... all 10th-grade boys are 18
Me, being the oddball science kid, was the only one in the SpeedShifters [10 of us custom cars guys] who was intrigued how the gal makes one tassel spin clockwise and the other counter-clockwise... it still baffles science. So much censorship in the USA compared to other countries. Neanderthal vs homosapien we are a mix and those heavy Neanderthal genetics people have thinking problems... Renowned historian and 'Sapiens' author Yuval Noah Harari tackles those questions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlni04mpDdgCircuses and Carnivals in the 1950s were great...There were sword swallowers and flame eaters and all that great stuff. My dad was a telegraphed and his stitching area accommodated the Barnium Baley Circus and he got free tickets center ring down front for our family. It was an unforgettable experience. Ladeeeeees and GenteLLLLLmen The hi wire death-defying act by... etc.
In Florida there is B&B Museum I attended with a Sr group [they went one way me another] and will show some of the shots in this section...they were taken with art in mind.

Absolutely one of your best!
I chuckle since it was not well received by others and ignored by many. The image was created with LI, Limited Intelligence, no AI involved.
At Halloween, my favorite religious holiday as declared by the Pope in the 7th century ... that is the time to buy wigs rubber faces, and the like. She was put together with bits and pieces as would Dr. Frankenstein. Some do not understand that art can be humorous.

Interesting additional tidbits. Thanks. Humor is vital.
