Max - The information contained in Perry's or Hogan's ebook is likely better than what can be found in a traditional bound version. That is the key.

Would you be comfortable buying an ebook, printing it out with double sided pages and then having it spiral bound into a book? If you dont have the capacity to do the printing, a local shop could. The same folks could handle the binding.

What I have done in the past with an electronic file like this is scan through the electronic version and then just print out the pages I want. Less paper and 3 hole punched can fit into a flat binder.

I thought about that. I could do that in monochrome, but not color. I'll explore. Thanks

I just purchased a new Nikon Z8 from the Nikon Store. The little book that came with it is useless, so I have some questions. I won't be using it for videos.

1. The camera takes CFexpress and XQD cards. What's the difference?

2. When I went on line to price cards, I saw there were CFexpress-A and CFexpress-B cards. What's the difference? Will both work in the camera?

Just buy CFExpress type B cards.

3. About how many still RAW images will fit on a 128gig card?

4. Can you recommend a good 3rd party instruction manual? Amazon offers several.

Thanks for your help.

Why purchase the Z8 in the 1st place? No one is suggesting that you purchase and max out all the equipment for the Z8 however, you should at least be prepared to set it up to operate at the minimum levels available. Look up some great YouTube videos on how to set up the Z8 and this includes Steve Perry‘s videos. You do not need to be a wildlife shooter to listen and understand he goes in to understandable detail. Good luck with your great Nikon Z8.

Thanks, Bill. I like books. Real ones and not e-books.

It's almost unbelievable that one would purchase a $4000 "Digital" camera and then be put off by a "digital" eBook!

You are living in 2 different ages.

Thanks, Rick. I will definitely check that out. I have been shooting Nikon for over 40 years, and digital for almost 20.

Exactly what Rick from NY said, best resource and value out there!

Cheers and congratulations the Z8 is a great camera!

The only person I know who has printed eBooks (you can order a print version or the electronic version) is Darrell Young. He said he would have one available for the Z8 by the summer of 2023 but doesn't look like he has completed it yet. Maybe you can sign up on his website and be notified when it is available?

https://rockynook.com/author-info/darrell-young-2081/

PS. I have never looked at his books so can't say how good they are.

Thanks, Ricardo. I generally like Rocky Nook books, but one is not yet available. Amazon does have print books available, but it is difficult to judge which one might be best.

OKay for fun I looked at Amazon and the book that popped up is "Mastering the Nikon Z8:The Ultimate step by step guide for Rookies". It is by "Isaiah Wealth"? Really? Sounds like a con to me. Is there really a photographer by that name?

I saw that, but it is free on Kindle.

While I agree that setup is a personal thing, (I recently watched a video for the OM-1, “the 5 settings to change on your OM-1”, I disagreed with 4 of them), I disagree that the user manual is the best way to achieve the right setup. I find in the good 3rd party guides they provide info on why you might want a setting a certain way and also which settings work well together and which don’t.

Which Youtube video on the OM-1 are you referring to, I found several online?
