Honey and bumble (or carpenter) bees, Oct. 2023. After the hummer(s) left, the bees had the Salvia flowers to themselves. Then they left too, the flowers are dead, and the plant is in the ground for winter.

Tried to zoom in closer - from the closest the lens would focus - and also cropped more aggressively. Comments and critiques welcome.

Luv me sum bees! Wonderful detail. Using telephoto glass for portraits! If you can swing it try the 105. The F mount glass can be temperamental but allows one to get in very close.

Thanks, Timothy, for the feedback. I have 'eyed' the Z mount 105, recently on sale refurbished, but managed to control my GAS. I would not try to get too close to bees or wasps anyway - telephoto is preferred personally for stingers. But for flowers, the macro (micro) lens would be great. Maybe next year.
