I am not a professional and have no plans on becoming one. However I love my hobby. I thought these came out beautiful but would love to hear from others if I could have done something to make them better.
I have a Nikon D3100 I also used my backdrop and slave flash.
Thank you
I would back off with the crops and relax the smiles. On the top one, I think it's an unflattering angle for the woman. Maybe have her head tip down to where her eyes are level with yours and have him kiss her on the side of the forehead. The tummy is important in these, so keep it in the limelight. I'm not a professional, but this is what I'd do...
Oh--and how about trying it without the vignette. It darkens the edges and leaves the center bright. On the second one, it makes the *ahems* the center of attention.
Thank you, the photo shoot is over now, but I will try again if they come over today. The top shot was after they posed I just liked how she looked up at him with the look of love in her eyes. It was one of those spontaneous moments.
I found a few others and see the difference although there is no hiding the *AHEMS*...LOL
Thanks again
if the couple love them - who are we to grouse?
You can obviously do better. Try again.
Note, when someone kisses someone neck, make sure there no hairs in the way. Ever have had hairs in your mouth? same in photography... Noooooooo!
Ok I will try again. I am trying to emphasize the pregnancy.
I am also attempting to resize without much luck.
Re size (crop in camera) when you take the picture.
When using a couple (with a pregnant lady) watch out for underwear (photo #1.)
The hand position.. use the woman to support her womb, the man slightly higher but as if feeling the unknown (that really exist, ever met a pregnant man)?
Remember that in this particular case (and for good reasons) the woman is in control so the man's hand? either away from the woman's or supporting her hands/arms.
You are not dealing with love here but with creation, the making of a new life and hopefully an envious man.
Thank you..hopefully they stop by again this time I will tell her to wear a darker shirt. I noticed it too however I was hoping it wouldn't be as visible... LOL par for the course. I appreciate the honesty.
Judging from her belly, I doubt you will see them again at that stage anytime soon... She seems ready to drop her kid!!! :D

You have some major hot spots, most noticably on her belly. It looks like your shots are over exposed by at least one stop.
Have these been edited? If so are you using an action/preset? If so back off on the occupancy, it's way to strong and taking away from the image - less is more.
#1 - NEVER, NEVER shot up someone's nose, it will never look good.

i am not a portrait photogropher at all, so I cant advise on your tecqnique. However I am a mood and emotion photographer and can say I absolutely LOVE the first 2 you posted. the look of love and adoration on her face is priceless, the sense that he is wrapping his whole family in his protective arms just like a real man should. These photos to me have great emotional impact. as for the technical flaws they may have, i didn't notice em but like i said im not a portrait guy. very nice job. post more please.
I seen the underwear too... I tried again this time taking it out of the picture and trying not to ruin the shot. I believe my step-daughter is now in labor so I need to work with what I have...
