I've really enjoyed your series on Dubai, Mel. Much of what you showed could be described as a trip through a fantasy land. I've seen other pictorial essays that focused on the underbelly of Dubai. Underneath all the gold and glitter, lies areas that could well be seen as being comparable to the slums of any Western big city. I know that had you experienced such scenes, you would have recorded them along with everything else that you saw. Were you ever aware of any effort to to discourage visitors from accessing such areas?

If they're smart, and I believe they are, they will probably diversify their monetary sources while they still have the money, and while they still have a cushion of time.
