They made it again this year in greater numbers than the past couple years and we caught a look yesterday. We usually get them around the Beavertail Lighthouse or off of Newport at Sachuest.

On the east coast, sometimes as far south as Md, they migrate from northeast Canada or Greenland and we were pleased to count over 70 of them. The west coast and Montana enjoy them from Alaska area.

Sightings are relatively rare and we hope to catch them returning to York, Maine this year. We have viewed them in late May and early June in LeHardy Rapids, Yellowstone National Park.

Thanks much! Only time of the year we can see them, if we see them at all.

Hey, Bruce, good to hear from you! Take a ride during the week to Jamestown!

We've been checking out the Hatchery in Central Village the past couple years and gotten some good action there on occasion!

My Sister and Nephew are coming out from California for a week. I think I’ll take them there. Thanks

Very good! We usually follow Rt 138 all the way and it takes an hour to hit the bridge and another 20 minutes to hit Beavertail Lighthouse. Lol, you probably know the route better than me!

Sometimes we go over to Newport and hike the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge on the southeast corner and eat at Anthony's Seafood (Closed Mon-Wed)on the way back in Middletown.

Thank you for your comment! Supposedly between Dec and Feb they have been seen at Point Lookout on Montauk on occasion.
