Please begin this series at "Gaudi and Park Guell. Part 1 of 4." It will mean more if you do.

From this viewpoint you can see some of the skewed columns holding up the terrace, and the tiled serpentine benches that line its edges. You will see them better soon.

The serpentine benches ringing the terrace, made of zillions of pieces of broken ceramic tiles. The light was bad from this angle at this time of day, but when you're traveling, and you're taking pictures, sometimes you have to take what you have.

Another view of those benches. You can see the city in the background. I had to do a bit of post processing to bring out the colors, as there was a vey great dynamic range between light and dark.

Here you get a better sense of how sinewy and organic those benches are. I have to say they were not terribly comfortable.

I don’t think they were originally intended to be benches. They seem to tip slightly down toward the back and have “drain holes”.

They were meant to be benches, but this is Gaudi. I suppose the "drains" were to help keep them dry.

We were very happy, Mark. We're always happy when we're "somewhere else," wherever that may be.

The eccentricity of the man can be a bit baffling at times, but his essential earthiness keeps it all together.

We were there about 4 years ago. Awesome place. Gaudi architecture could also be found in the Sagrada Familia. Barcelona is a nice place - architecture, Olympic park, Las Rambla walk, outdoor eateries a place to enjoy!

If I may ask what camera equipment and lens were you shooting with ? Colors and clarity are amazing. Thanks.
