You've got a very handy grandson, Gary. He gets you great specimens, and you do your great thing with them. I really like the color and texture of this guy.
Mel, thanks for stopping by and providing feedback.
This is a focused stacked image of a wheel bug gifted to me by my grandson who collects specimens for me. They are assassin bugs that prey upon a wide variety of insects and are one of the few insects that prey on the brown marmorated stink bug which are agricultural terrorists. They are also valuable predators in forests and shade trees because they prey on the well-protected hairy caterpillars that are defoliators.
I staged this session with a Schneider Kreuznach Componon "S" 50mm f/2.8 enlarger lens (reverse mounted) directly on the Fujifilm X-T20 mirrorless camera. The 204 images in the stack were processed in Zerene Stacker to produce the image posted.

Thanks, Jim. He lives over an hour away so I don't get to see him as often as I would like. His collecting specimens for me is a way for us to have something to bring us together.
He is lucky to have such a great grandpa! Excellent example.
