Interesting. As far as no. 2 and the pronunciation of scent, I use the rule of "scant" and pronounce it "skent". Isn't that correct?
Fridge in no. 8 doesn't refer to "refrigerator" but to the brand Fridgidaire. The brand became so common that the shortened moniker soon referred to all makes of refrigerators.
