Whatever I take on the phone gets transferred.
WAY, way less than 472,000!
I don't have anywhere near that many in total from different cameras and old scanned photos.
Maybe 12,000+?
Probably because I don't have 1,000 pictures of the same <type of> 50 different birds,
and I'm selective in what I shoot.
Very selective.

only because the pictures are so vivid

I send them to my gmail account using SHARE command. From there they are now on my gmail account. I bring up the image, grab it and put it on my desktop, from there I bring up photoshop and use the FILE then NEW command to bring the image into photoshop. I can then do anything I want to improve the shot and then save it to my desktop.

I connect my phone to PC with USB C to USB A cable. It pops up in file manager, and I can move files like it's a SSD in my PC.

Mega dittos.

You can buy a universal flash drive (Blanbok+ or similar) which has the iphone and android connectors. Not much $$$. Plug it into phone and download your pics. Remove and plug into computer. It has both large and small USB. Couldn't be simpler.

For me, cabling the phone to the computer is much simpler.

Yes! I found that on the phone I have to click on YES to allow the computer to access it. But that's all.

Yes, I always transfer them to the computer.

I have an IPhone, for that Kodak moment. I airdrop the pics to my IPad, for a bigger pic. The Apple editing programme in IPad is pretty good for brightening a pic.
The iPad I use for so much during the day, it’s more convenient. I either keep or delete pics if required, but transfer to desktop storeage by usb cable. To keep.
The wonders of technology??
Love em or hate em, Apple is a pretty good system. Airdrop is great.

I'm new to cellphone (iPhone 14 Pro Max) shooting and my pics are very vivid on the small screen.
I recommend downloading them to your computer and using a program of your choice so they may be sorted as you wish by date subject, etc., critically analyzed, post-processed, and the chaff Easily and Ruthlessly discarded.
After going through this process, Xfer them back to your phone for friends and relatives to "admire".

Or because I take so few phone photos I just email them.
Most photos on my phone are reversed and are camera photos placed in my phone galleries.

For only a couple, I do the same. As long as the phone doesn't reduce the size for sending.

I set my phone to not reverse the front facing camera. Left is on the left.

I don't take:Real" photos with the phone, just quick documentation shots or a quick FB
one for my wife and in 8 years perhaps 2 front facing photos.
So any additional issues I cannot address.
