only because the pictures are so vivid
Yes, I always transfer them to the computer.

Wouldn't that mean you're wasting your time with all your cameras and vague questions, and should just be using your phone instead?

All 472,000 of them?
Whatever I take on the phone gets transferred.
WAY, way less than 472,000!
I don't have anywhere
near that many in total from different cameras and old scanned photos.
Maybe 12,000+?
Probably because I don't have 1,000 pictures of the same <type of> 50 different birds,
and I'm selective in what I shoot.
Very selective.
Actually images taken with my phone (when I had it which I no longer have) were rarely got transferred to the computer. They mainly got sent to someone via text message or email. I used to phone mainly for work and the images are also for work.
I connect my phone to PC with USB C to USB A cable. It pops up in file manager, and I can move files like it's a SSD in my PC.
I can't get my computer to find my cell phone with pics. that I want to put in computer. Have a USB cable hooked up and computer says it can't find camera. How come?
Apple or Windows?.......
What are you using to look at the phone? Eg. I use Explorer in Windows.
The computer doesn't need to see "the camera", just folders and files on the phone.

On my Android, I have to authorize the computer to access the phone, via 'USB connected devices' in the settings menu of the phone.

Interesting. I just plug my Android phone into my Windows box. It's there.
Unless I "authorized it" on the phone years ago and forgot about it.....

Can't say anything about your phone, nor your personal IT security procedures. Mine performs as described.

Paul, Carl has been on here before asking about light meters, you had several exchanges where the reply was terminated with ..................Message Ended................ or something to that effect. His questions are often enigmatic. I believe you finally told him to use either google or youtube.
