Thank you, looks the ideal option for what I am looking for; particularly the three legged base, weight, height and ability to satisfactorily hold my Canon EF 100-400 with it's adaptor which is proving a challenge hand held

Yes. Great item. I use it as a third leg (my legs are 1 and 2). I can use it with my camera in awkward positions I can't hold steady enough without it. It is also easier and faster to adjust than a tripod. Used it last month to photograph flowers at the Chicago Botanical Gardens last month.
