Thanks, Earnest. I do enjoy watching athletes who are good at what they do. I think there were 8 or 9 guys, spread out over the course, who were practicing that day.

You take it right, Brian. I got to talking with a couple of those guys. One of them had a backup kayak with him. He let me use it to see if I could make it across a very placid section of the course....not more than fifty feet wide. I made it across but it was not a pretty sight. I'm telling you, it's no walk in the park in those small kayaks when you don't know what you're doing.

" Deliverance" is one of my top 5 movies of all time, Mel. There have been a fair number of times when I stumbled upon scenes that looked just like some of those in the movie, particularly that one when they are arranging to have their cars driven back to civilization. Those are times when I didn't dare whip out my camera.
