Hey. Let's Go Have Some Fun
Yea, do some manly stuff.
Whose idea was this.
To hell with y'all, I'm out of here.
Very nice progression series. Not something I've experienced, but makes me wonder if this endeavor is more or less difficult than when using a longer vessel?
Great shots. I hope the kayaker is OK!

Thank you for commenting.
A longer vessel would make the intended maneuver almost impossible. Look at shot #5, He's in an ideal position to start the maneuver. He has stuck the nose of the vessel straight into the onrushing water and it has pulled him into the position shown. If all goes well, the strong flow of the water will aid him as he tries to complete a flip, he and the vessel totally submerged, so that when he comes back to the surface, he is heading in the same direction as when he started the whole thing.
These guys practicing are some of the best, I saw a number of attempts at that maneuver that were successfully completed. The venue they are using for practice once hosted the world championships.

Nice action shots!!!
Thanks. I'm glad you dropped by.
Having done some whitewater kayaking and canoeing in my past, the scenes in this post evoke terror rather than fun! Some friends always tried to talk me into running the Hudson River gorge in Spring, but I always turned them down and glad I did as several people have perished in that pursuit when sucked down by hydraulics below a drop.

It's good to hear from you Kathy. Check out my response to Chance directly below your comments. Out of view in my shots, there were a couple of rescue guys who can immediately respond if they are needed.

I always appreciate your visits. I once considered getting in to aerobatic flying. It didn't take long for me to realize that my flying skills were better suited to just puttering along with the clouds.
