I've spent a lot of my photographic career trying to get a shot over very large groups of people . I'm talking 8000 plus people or more , the shots are almost always repeated from the same place , whether it be a stage change or whatever I've done a lot of photographic stuff for education via collages . Mainly for teaching purposes and visual aid of sorts. This was the only way to achive these particular shots ... I guess it's to everyones own view point . ... But thanks for your response , don't agree but thanks....

Now if you install a remote control pan, swivel and tilt head on the thing, it might have some promise. I seem to recall a recent entry here about a remote control head that was controled by a smart phone app and WIFI or BlueTooth. That unit also had coonection for remote view and camera control as well and heald both smart phones and Ipads. Might pay to look into combining the 2 inventions.

Sence I posted this the last time I've made some major changes in my 12.5 ft. tall tri pod . Set it up in the wind and it didn't even wiggle even without the weight . Got to lenghten the pan handle though ,but works great . Did a poor man patent on it , might have a interested party... So what do you people think ....?...
Like many of the other posters here, I can't see a use for such a tripod. But well done for a nice piece of engineering that obviously fulfills a requirement you have.
I know nothing of patenting in USA, but you would not get a patent in UK simply because there's nothing patentable - there's no new technology involved, just application of existing.
However, good luck with your project.

Does it come in carbon fiber? I just took out a low interest mortgage loan and have $125,000.00 to spend. Can you reccomend a good head within my budget?
Thanks for the help.

Closer to the moon as well....
One reason would be in photographing large Groups , tethered to a lap top and used with remote release.

This could be of interest to the 360/180 panoramists.
Take a look at the poles that Nodal Ninja sells.
Might be worth a contact with Nick Fan, creator of the Nodla Ninja line - he might be interested in buying it,
if you are looking for a buyer

A tripod so high that a 10-foot step ladder is needed to reach camera.
Which circumstances would require a 12-foot tripod?
Second floor bedroom window? ;)

Hey Doc ..... ehhhhh, for starters, height ..... I have three of these in my back yard, just forgot what I used em for
Adorable cartoons...where did you get them?
How do you take the shots ? By remote control?
It would sure make a nice portable ham radio tower.
