I'm not sure what you are interested in photographing. I was along Lake Erie last month going to Magee Marsh and other birding sites.
Here is what people recommended to me. July isn't the best time to go there, plan to go back next spring.

Lake Erie has beautiful sunsets and sunrises, as do all of the Great Lakes. I like the area around Sandusky. The shoreline sticks out into the lake, so you can get great photos of the sunsets and sunrises. I like to photograph the Marblehead Lighthouse in the morning and was getting there early to set up a time-lapse. Some of the photos were taken from my drone.

I plan to be back there in the fall and travel along Lake Ontario and Erie from Sackets Harbor in New York to Toledo. Too much to see back there.

There are countless photo opportunities near Lake Erie. If you venture near Geneva-on-the-Lake or Ashtabula, there are 30+ covered bridges. Different sizes, shapes and designs. Have fun!!

At Presque Isle there used to be kite flying clubs there at the tip of it.
Fun to watch. Back in Ohio, Mentor Headlands State Park and Mentor Marsh
offer photo ops. A couple miles east is the Fairport Harbor historic lighthouse.
South of Cleveland in the vicnity of The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is Brandywine Falls.
Northern Ohio may not have the grandeur vistas of the Appalacians or the Rocky Mountains but
there is a quiet understated beauty here. If you like water falls visit the town of Chagrin Falls
on the eastern edge of Cuyahoga Co. In Eastern Lake county there is Paine Falls. I hope you will have
an enjoyable time whatever attractions you may visit.

The lighthouse at Marblehead offer some nice photo opportunities. Also Put-in-Bay and Kelly Island.

There is a train museum at the town of ‘Northeast PA’ which is actually located just North of Eire PA {which actually places it in Northwest PA. We discovered it when I rode past it on Amtrak. They have ‘demonstrator’ from GE.

Summit County is the County to the South of Cleveland and is loaded with Metro Parks and are all well worth seeing. There are a lot of photo-ops in all those parks. Enjoy your stay.

There is also a train Museum in Conneaut Ohio which is the last town in Ashtabula countiy's N.E. corner.
There is a new R.R. Museum in Painesville Ohio. It's logically named The Painesville R.R. Museum.
Near Northeast PA is the Erie suburb or Borough of Wessleyville. GE has a factory that manufactures
diesel engines.

On Route 2 going west from Cleveland there are Howard Metro Park #1 and #2.
Also there is Magee Marsh and in Oregon Ohio there is Maumee Bay State Park. Howard Metro #2 has Black-necked Stilts, Grebes and immature and adult Eagles are seen often.

For wildlife you are in luck. From Ottawa county East you find numerous bald eagles, herons, egrets and various shore birds. Marblehead area offers numerous lake front shots and it just gets better going East toward Cleveland.
Check the state fish hatchery out at Castalia for fish and eagle shots. Good luck. Dan

Kirtland by itself offers photo opportunities. It was the first Mormon settlement in the US and is the site of the first Mormon Temple. The town is picturesque in itself (unless it's modernized since I last past through). No, I am not a Mormon, but came across Kirtland by accident.

Reuss Griffiths Loc: Ravenna, Ohio

It's the Cuyahoga Valley Nat'l Park. Best place to start exploring it is the small town of Peninsula. Brandywine Falls is probably their biggest tourist draw and there's plenty of photo opportunities there as well. Blue Hen falls, across the valley will require some hiking to get to but is also a great photo opportunity. Ride the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.  

Check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland. Great displays and good photo ops too. The Cleveland Flats, along the Cuyahoga River just west of downtown is great for night life and need I say some great photo ops as well. University Circle, about 3 miles east of the downtown area has the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, and several other museums too. Check out the Emerald Necklace, a 50 mile ring of parks that surround the city that is quite varied and beautiful too. There are 19 covered bridges and a dozen wineries in Ashtabula County about 50 miles east of Cleveland.

East of Cleveland in the Burton area and south of Cleveland in Wayne county are large Amish communities that again provide photo ops if you don't take close up photos of the Amish themselves. Cedar Point is the roller coaster capital of the world but there's a lot more there than coasters. One of the better amusement parks in the country.

Google day trips in Northeast Ohio to get some other ideas. Something here for everyone.
