Did you ever try to buy a replacement gas cap for a lawnmower? It ain't easy. A squirrel must have stolen the gas cap off my Craftsman mower over the winter, and no one locally has a replacement. Craftsman lists the part, but it's not available. Amazon has about dozen different gas caps for mowers. Really?! Is it necessary to have so many different designs for a gas cap? I'll keep looking, and then I'll make something. Maybe I'll have to buy a new mower.

If Apple starts making lawnmowers, I bet they won't sell parts - just new mowers. "Well, you know, for the cost of the part, plus certified installation, you'd be better off buying a new Apple iMower." 🤣

Good Morning Jerry, I just bought a cable for my old old crasfman mower at this site be well. when I was looking for the part (cable) it said that it was not a exact replacement but that it would work, it was a bit short but it did work fine.

Do they still sell Craftsman brand lawnmower? I know that Stanley Black & Deckers owns the brand but I think they only sell tools.

Maybe a small engine repair shop or scrap yard if you have one in your travels.

DUCT TAPE WILL FIX MOST ANY THING.

If you don’t like that solution, you could try a very long scissor. Better yet just buy a lawnmower with an electric cord. When it stops working but a longer extension cord!! LOL!!!
I tried to replace the spark plug on my lawnmower, I ended up replacing the damn thing. Maybe I’ll take it out of the cardboard box one day.

I tried! I even posted little signs on the trees asking if any squirrel had the gas cap, and he didn't it want anymore.

Yes I agree, Duct tape can fix or replace many things, BUT it is a poor substitute for toilet paper.

I think the gas fumes would dissolve the toilet paper.

I lost the gas cap for my riding mower. Amazon had the exact match

I could buy a bunch from Amazon and return whatever doesn't fit, but I'll improvise.

A cork or a rubber stopper from your local hardware store. Wide range of sizes.

The cap provides necessary venting, the stopper will not.

Like using a cigarette lighter to look inside the fuel tank to see if it has any gas. How many times has that been done in movies?

Go to the scrapyard… a lot of old mowers and gas caps there. No charges either.
Finding that cap is easier than finding one for a 5 gallon gas can.
None in scrapyards either.
