more? I haven't come across one reason yet.
In Florida you don't have to install a sauna.
Just go outside....
I don’t understand why alternatives to electric cars is not getting more attention & research, perhaps hydrogen cell solutions in running an automobile. And the head-long rush to electric cars. You can’t, overnight, change every mode of travel from fossil fuel to all electric. Continue research into an alternative to fossil fuel while also continuing to improve the use of fossil fuel. I think too many times government tends to a knee-jerk reaction which can have unintended consequences. There are examples of this in other areas; defund the police, for example. I am not being political about the above; just practical. Some can’t afford electric cars or need a car with more range. In the meantime, limiting access to fossil fuel production is having the effect of higher prices for some who cannot afford to spend more on fuel; as well as national security implications. If you can afford an electric vehicle & it can meet your needs, that is sincerely good. But not all can afford them and their limitations.

"Road tax" is just an excuse to collect money. NY collects almost $1,000,000 every day from the Throgs Neck Bridge. I doubt it costs that much to maintain it. I've paid $4,626 in tolls over the past twenty-six years, and I try to avoid toll roads.
How, pray tell, have you calculated the price you paid for tolls over the past 26 years?

I love my hybrid 53 mpg Toyota Prius. I just laugh at the drivers of huge SUV's complaining about the price of gas.

That's OK Jerry, if you like high taxes and intrusive regulation I would suggest that NY is your Nirvana. If you have an aging gas stove I would suggest you replace it before Hochul pushes here ban on such appliances even further.
Florida is hot, flat and boring. Besides that, who wants to live with a bunch of old white people who desperately need Hispanics to do all their dirty work?

LOL.... Just shows your ignorance, probably the best state in the nation for water sports, home of arguably the most important latin city in the world, extremely diverse population and one of the fastest growing states in the Union which years ago eclipsed New York as the 3 most populous state in our country.

Yup. Texas is one of the states with no state income tax.
While you might have a lower sales tax, we pay 8%. Dallas pays 8 1/4% which the voters approved to build things like the American Airlines Center where the Mavericks play. Texans aren't bit on a state income tax. So...buy a new car and you'll pay sales tax on it.
1. According to what I see on the internet, zMichigan has a state income tax. If people in Michigan pay a sales tax on what the purchase, then I don’t get what are saying. IOW, unless you are paying considerably less sales tax, we in Texas are better off from a taxing point.

Sales taxes do not replace income taxes, there are only 5 states that do not have sales taxes... Delaware, Alaska, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon
Anybody who thinks they are better off because their States charge a lower sales tax will be paying more somewhere else. How your State spends your money is between you and your politicians. Little point in even mentioning (skiting, moaning, etc) differences on here. You have already made your decisions as to which States features you like the most by where you live. This includes things like scenery, climate, etc.
EVs are a separate issue including what ever knee jerk reactions your State might do to support/not support them. All things equal they are heavier, their manf generates a lot more carbon dioxide than than an ICE, it is unclear how their remains will be disposed of especially the battery, they require more trip planning than an ICE, charging anxiety is a real thing, they cost more. Only time will tell if they are a dead end or not.

I'm from Michigan. I'm IN Texas. Michigan pays a 4% sales tax and then has income tax. Texas has only a sales tax of 8%. Grocery store food is exempt from the sales tax.

I love my Kia Soul EV and I laugh at being called a nut for spending 4 cents a mile for electrons instead of 20 cents a mile for stinking gasoline for my previous ride, a Mazda 3. I still own a small truck that needs to be run occasionally
so the gas doesn't go stale. Have you had the stale gas problem with the Prius?
