I am downloading my iCloud and then we have to reinstall the system. Ain't technology great?
It is in that with proper planning it is possible to restore data to a new system.

Unfortunately that comes with a loss of time that everyone would prefer to spend differently.

Good luck with it!

Sorry to hear about your corrupted disc…….

Don’t feel so bad. I’m sure you’re in pain. Teach the cat to head over to Staples. She should buy a package of 50 disks for $13.99 on sale. I hope you feel better soon!!

I completely misunderstood, Mike. I was wondering how you got around in those mountains with a bad back like mine!

Sorry to hear about your corrupted disc. I know how you feel. I had a new MRI on 7/20/23, then had an appt to see my Spine Surgeon on the 27th. I have 5 discs that are real bad, 2 are bulging and I have pinched sciatic nerves on both legs starting at the buttocks and down the back of both legs, the worst being on the left. He has me scheduled for surgery on Sept 6 to have some bone removed at L3-L4 and L4-L5 in order to do "spinal decompression" in order to give those nerves more room in the spinal canal and hopefully to relieve this pain that I have been living with for the last 2 1/2 years. I have been getting about 3 hours sleep every night, and I can't stand this anymore, even though he has me pretty worried after showing me the MRI pictures and the things that could happen during surgery, and informing me what I won't be able to do for 3 to 6 months while I have recovery. Can't run the vacuum, should not bend over, don't empty the dishwasher or take clothes out of the washing machine, and don't drive until the Surgeon says so, and a bunch of other regular things. I'm going to have trouble teaching my Persian Cat how to do these things, because all she likes to do is sit on my lap and watch tv or nap. Hope you have better luck Mike.

Had that done, should have had it done 5 years earlier, also endep is a wonder drug, low dose age, great effect

Good luck with that, Mike. After the problem is solved you should get a backup and keep it in a different location.

Sorry about your health issues. I have some of the same, although not as severe as yours. Mine gives me less problems when I am walking every morning & doing a few recommended exercises. I know not everyone’s situation is the same. Wishing you good luck and a speedy recovery.

My friend once had a sipped disc. I think corruption is the next phase!

I feel your pain Mike. A little earlier this year I had my 2nd hard drive fail where my files were stored and my backup became corrupted. The only thing that saved me was the Backblaze cloud drive. I was able to restore pretty much everything.

I like the line you often hear in movies, "Failure isn't an option."
