Thanks for the 3 thumbs up Gary. It was a great event and new to me. I had a lot of fun taking over 100 pictures.

The Northeast Ohio British Car Council sponsors a British Car Day each year in Hudson, Ohio. The show features a lot of Austin Healeys, MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars because these were the first cars built that were intended for sale in the US after WWII. The show also includes a lot of other British cars like Lotus, Bentley, Land Rover and some makes I never heard of like Jensens and TVRs.
As an aside, I’d like to provide some of my photographic insights. Reuss’s Insight #17. If you take pictures of fireworks, you turn your autofocus off and set your focus manually around infinity that way, everything from a hundred ft to infinity will be in focus because of depth of field. When the show is over you quickly pack up your camera and head for your car so you don’t get caught in long lines of traffic. And four days later, if you take pictures at a car show and don’t remember that you turned off your autofocus, and take pictures of the cars anyway, you may be disappointed. Someone who will remain nameless did just that and again was saved by depth of field because it was a sunny day and he set a high f-stop with a low ISO and the pictures came out in reasonable focus. Just sayin’ for a friend.

Excellent job of photographing these cars!!! British motorcars were never my "cup of tea". The only British car I ever owned was a well-used 1958 English Ford Station Wagon powered by a flathead four cylinder whose roots could be traced back to a Model A Ford.

Thanks for checking this out and your kind comments. My parents had an Anglia too, was a little puddle-jumper. If you are a street rodder as your avatar suggests, you should check out all the comments about the Caterham 7 pictured here. People familiar with it describe it as a race car that's scary quick to drive and it's street legal too.

What a great bunch of photos of some magnificent cars! Maybe not all the most reliable but definitely beautiful and desirable.

Appreciate the kind words. And you're right about the magnificent cars with issues but most of all they were so much fun to drive compared to American cars at the time.

Thanks Jack. You should check it out next year. I discovered it by accident on Hudson's website. It's an annual event held around this time every year.

One thing I've discovered with this posting is that while you are limited to 10 images per posting, you can get in extra images if you post them in response to someone's comments or questions. I'm going to use this opportunity to post an image that I wasn't planning to regarding an issue a lot of these cars have a legacy. Any of the cars here that might engage in international competitions have a tie to color, British Racing Green. It is the official color for all of the UK in international competitions. IMHO it is one of the ugliest colors I've ever seen on a car. I prefer to call it "gangrene"

This is the only car in this whole collection of 50 - 75 British cars that was British Racing Green. I told the owner that I admired his fortitude and offered him my condolences

Re. the Sprite, I wrapped a section of inner tube around the distributer to prevent the puddle problem. Ultimately had to sell the car when my wife, pregnant with our 1st child, could no longer reach her feet to the pedals. Alas!!

Thanks for looking in. Most British car owners have their own Lucas stories. My mother, a short woman, couldn't drive my Austin Healey 100-6 because her feet wouldn't reach the pedals.

Actually it's a Caterham 7. Caterham bought the rights from Lotus to make the car in the 1970s. The picture I posted of the interior, I think on page 2 here, shows the website of Caterham just below the gear shifter.

Thanks for looking in. I'm planning on posting more images in a couple of days.

lukevaliant, check out my answer to skipnord that you commented about. When I first saw this car I had no idea what it was but by exchanging ideas with other hoggers, you were the first, I found out it is actually a Caterham, a UK company that bought the rights from Lotus. In fact, they've resourced most of the parts actually made by Lotus so the only thing that remains of the Lotus influence are Colin Chapman's design and the looks of the car and awesome performance.
