Three years my wife bought her first DSLR, a Canon 5D MK4. I bought her Lightroom 5 and the Canon 24-105 f4. Last year I bought her the Canon 70-200 2.8 and the Canon 400 F4 DO. She knew almost nothing about photography. I taught her what I know and she has taken it from there. At first she would ask so many questions about settings, etc. Now not so much.
Here are two pictures she took at the Saint Louis Aquarium at Union Station last week, using 24-105 f4 lens. I think they are amazing, I guess because I don't think about photographing fish from these angles. I do profiles of sharks, and the bottom side of Stingrays. She has taught me a lesson about composition here.
