Of course, I did see what was written on the bag, which is one reason I like it so much. I just wish it were a tad bigger so that most people would take notice of it without having to zoom in on it. The writing on the bag is perfect for the photo of the young lady. Overall a great street photo.

Agreed.

If it were mine I would address the following;

a) The distracting halo around the subject caused by the blurring process in post.

b) The confusing blur, going from none to full from bottom to top, of the vertical grey post behind the subjects left arm.

I like the photo as is. My eye went to the subject initially then to the woman in black and then back to the subject. I think the original is much more interesting with the second woman included than the cropped suggestion. After a few seconds of my eyes darting back and forth I find that I settle on the "fit" and more interesting woman in black as opposed to the "sloppy" subject. I think the photo would have been a little more interesting if the subject were not staring at the camera.

Why not just crop to vertical and leave out all the distractions on the left. A vertical subject almost always likes a vertical format and fills the frame better.

Now that we have had a couple of opportunities to see a cropped version of the image, I have to agree that the original photograph is much more interesting artistically. If this were intended as an environmental portrait of the woman with the bag, or even a family portrait, the cropped version would be fine. But as an interesting view of life in the city, the original is much stronger. Now I only wish you could have captured the baby carriage she is pushing. Either way, the contrast between the two women is the key source of interest.

I am changing my vote to a suggestion to go with the original.

I concur with those who opt to remove the lady in the background. I believe you would choose that with a purpose…the image without cropping would then have a strong sight line that would pull the viewers eye to the subject girl giving you much more of an impact aided by the darker depth drawing you to the illuminated forefront….POP

I like the crop to portrait but I would also clone out or blur the car on the right.

If you’re presenting the image as a portrait of the young lady facing the viewer, then crop it to exclude the lady walking out of the frame. If you’re presenting the image as a street shot, then leave the lady in black in the image.

I've got to say that this is a very uncomplimentary photo of, I'm sure, a lovely young lady. She looks thoroughly disgusted. If it were mine, I'd delete it.

Remove the woman on the left, don't crop. I find the blurring of the main subject distracting and it suggests poor focus rather than intentional blur.

Not knowing which woman is the main subject it's difficult to answer your question.
I would assume it's young lady, and having seen a lot of your images I can't understand why you just didn't shift your focus to one lady or the other.

Agree.
