How about Canadian Vets? Dont we count?

Ubethca! We have been on the field side by side in WWI, WWII, Korea and VN togerther with the boys from down under. My first ship visited St John's in the summer of 1960 and some of us got stinking drunk with some of your rangers on Moosehead! Best time / worst hangover!

Yes we all lost some good friends and fine men
I served the Guns with 2 Royal Canadian Horse Artillery for 7 years 1958- 1965 Then remustered as Electronics/Instrument Tech with Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers for another 9 years - Medical Disability discharge in 1974.
I have been pleasantly surprised numerous times in the past few years - I have a Veteran plate on my truck, and while travelling in USA I have had US Vets come up and thank me, shake my hand and address me as Brother.
I am also proud to be a Vet! And I welcome members and past members of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Police, and Firemen of all allied countries.
For those that gave all - We Shall Not Forget!

I thought it would be of interest to the Veterans who are members of UHH to have a place to post what Service they were in , what there MOS (Mode Of Service) was ,and when and where they served. My guess is there are quite a few Veterans both young and "seasoned" that use the site.
Suggest we try to keep politics out of the thread. We all served our Nation and that is our common bond.

All Veterans of all Eras both men and women tell us who you were with and where you served.

I served in the US Navy 1969-1972 as a Gunners Mate. Did a tour in Nam as a twin .50 cal bow gunner on PBR's (Patrol Boats, River) '69-'70. My Unit was River Division 594, part of Task Force 116. Most of our ops were up along the Cambodian boarder. Finished up doing sea duty on The USS Ticonderoga, an old WWII vintage flat top. I made E-3 twice. Adherence to Military Discipline was not my strong points.

God Bless America and those who defend Her ,Past, Present and Future.

OK who's next?
I thought it would be of interest to the Veterans ... (show quote)

Overly Hackled. Not sure if I'm on point BUT, my uncle's brother died in Japan; my uncle was in the trenches of Korea; my dad was in the Navy and the Air Force; my first husband was in the Air Force; my current husband was in the Air Force (Guam); my nephew is in Jordan (been to Bosnia, Afghanistan, and points unknown); another nephew is in Afghanistan; my younger son is in the Army National Guard (been to Louisiana-hurricane relief, GITMO, Iraq). I feel like I've served because of the dedication to God and country that my family has shown so proudly. Just wanted you to know.

Thanks for all the service from you and your family and especially for all the bake sales you most likely contributed to.

I am a vet, just from a different country and I do dislike ANY government, especially the one that do not fulfill their promises and let their vets down That includes most of them...

Incidentally my wife is an active o6, USN, 3 years from retirement.
