Great shots, story, and appropriate memento!

Thank you very much. There's been many times when some friends and I have looked upon my piece of Henry and raised our glasses in a toast to his honor.

R.I.P. Henry I always hate to see the old guys go.

I'm happy for you, though, that you got a piece of him for a good memory.

Quite an interesting back story. Old Barns are so full of character, and make wonderful photography subjects. I like that door piece, glad you got it!
My favorite old barn collapsed from a 2' snow load, years ago.

Thanks for your interest, Doug.

That old man lived a very spartan life but he would do anything for you if he thought it would help you in any way. He really agonized over what to do with Henry's final remains. He finally decided to call one of the wood scavengers to come take it all away. They got the wood and in return they cleaned up the site very well. I think he took comfort in knowing that some of Henry was going to be a part of new custom homes, restaurants or other uses. He saw it as a chance for Henry to live on...to enhance someone else's life.
