Regardless of how many photographers have decided to go mirrorless, others are shooting fantastic photographs with their dSLRs or whatever. I have no interest whatsoever in getting a mirrorless camera because my current set of cameras and lenses suits me perfectly. I'll bet there are many, many people who feel the same way. Hence, they will continue to buy bargain used cameras at great prices when they need one.

My experience comports with what @larryepage said.
As an example , my daughter shoots weddings at generally 5-9k. She is busy . She was an At History Major at Princeton and cares very much about pictures, much less about equipment, for the last few years she has been using 12MP Nikon D3s bodies. Each year she adds one low milage body and replaces one of the 3 she carries to weddings.
She knows the camera backwards & forwards. It makes beautiful files. That is all she cares about.
I am not at all suggesting anyone else should do this, but most pros want to be comfortable with the equipment first and last

Lots to be said for that! I used to carry two Nikon FTn bodies, back in the 1970s. I knew them like the back of my hand. I still have one.

I'm a lot happier with current digital technology, however!

Used gear prices are going up for certain items like Canon TS lenses, and a premium is being paid for the camera's like the 1DX MK3 and D850 at stores like B&H. Discontinuation and the lack of a viable replacement, especially lenses may be part of it... and then the demand is growing because of the savings over new gear.

Lots of life still left in the old dlsr dinosaurs...

In my case I was able to buy a nice upper level DSLR to use with the nice L class lenses from canon and use them without a adapters. I hope that some day I will be able to buy an affordable refurbished or use mirrorless camera body.

Bargain seekers. Listen, the mirrorless revolution is quite something (I'm in, for one), but I assure you that DSLRs remain perfectly excellent photographic equipment. The rush to mirrorless has created a boon to the used DSLR market -- great equipment, fantastic lenses, all at bargain basement prices. Smart, budget-conscious buyers, that's why.

All due respect, but I haven't seen many bargain basement prices yet. They may be coming. That's one reason why I'm not anxious to shift over to MILC yet.

Yes! Why pay $4,000 for a camera when it's now available for $2,500, or so?

Said by a man who just paid $4,000 for his Z8.

To use. Only reason I would buy Mirrorless would be unavailability of batteries for older cameras.
I have a number of mirrorless cameras, they just predate the name.
I take photographs (memories), not create masterpieces.
