Nice photos of this beautiful park Chief. I sure wish that they would have just removed the rusty junk from the source and left the little island WITH the cover that held a lot of birds.

Thanks, Jeff!! Yeah, I walked over there from the parking lot to see what I could see. They have completely destroyed the former weir site! I saw one Gator and no birds. The river coming into the lake where the weir used to be is pretty deep now, so no waders. And they are "restoring" native vegetation along the banks. Over waist high now and roped off so no access to the river bank! Political correctness gone ape sh1t!

Thanks, Max! A couple of these were shot with a 200~500mm lens! And some with a 70~200mm. Not often do you see a landscape taken with a big telephoto!

We only saw one, in the river. That's crazy for Myakka. We usually see dozens of them! Maybe they are recovering from the hurricane too!
