While you shouldn't plan to swim in the river or any patch of water here as Myakka is alligator haven, it is a perfect place for kayaking, canoeing and paddleboard"

Hiking alone out to one of the remote camping areas is a little frightful as you can hear the Feral pigs rooting around.

Thanks! There is jungle and then there is jungle. Some places in S.E. Asia are absolutely beautiful!

My brother and I were canoeing in the Park a few years ago. We were in the river just below the lake, came around a bend and there were six or eight big ones laying on the bank. When they saw us they moved like a flash into the water. At least one of them bumped into the bottom of the boat and rocked us back and forth enough to make us grab the gunnels and hang on for dear life!

Yep, a lot of pigs there. But we haven't seen any since the last hurricane! We did see some tracks in the mud though!
