Someone once said that if you enjoy what you do for a living, you will never work a day in your life. I guess the doctor and school superintendent are proof of that!

That is so true. I’m 69 and still work full time. Love what I do and it doesn’t seem like work.

Did you enjoy the the gathering? I began meeting with a group of former educators/teachers in 1996. We meet for breakfast every week at a convenient location. It is sad four of them passed on in the last three years. We are friends and former colleagues. I'm now the oldest at 86. The size of the group used to be 9 or 10. It has reduced to 4 - 6.

Great image. I presume you were the one who pulled his chair out of the way and took the picture.

Nice story. I had my 60th grade school reunion a couple years ago. We actually had a great turnout, and now, I keep in touch with a few of my classmates that if haven’t seen in half a century! But I took my best camera, and it didn’t let me down.

At least she complimented your work. I've attended many trade fairs/farmer's markets, and so many times I hear people admire the work, but then say in a false whisper "I can do this". Maybe, but I doubt they can.

My wife makes jewelry. It's a passion, and she sells it at the local farmer's market and art walk. I used to sell woodwork stuff but I sold my woodshop and, needing something to do, I started going through the thousands of images I have stored up over the past 35 years and made some greeting cards to sell.

Most people never look at them, but a kind woman was going through them last week and as she left without buying one, she said: "These are beautiful. You have a good camera."

I have more than one. I wonder which is the good one?

And you tell me that she isn't telling the truth and you don't have good cameras?

I graduated from high school 71 years ago. Most of my class is no longer with us. And I still do some work in my field.

It IS a trick sometimes recognizing an old friend in their contemporary version when you haven’t laid eyes on them in 4, 5 or 6 decades…! The fleshy presentation sure does age in unique and unimagined fashions.

I love what I do. I get up when I want, take naps when I want, watch TV, play my ukulele, eat ice cream, drive around taking pictures. Did I mention taking naps?

I realized a few years ago that the whole point of getting a good education is to get a good job. That will let you retire with enough of an income to last you for the rest of your life. Yes, retirement is the ultimate goal in life.

You hit the nail on the head, Jerry. 10 years retired and loving it. 40 years at the post office with lots of OT is a fond (?) memory.

Looking at the pics from this little Canon, many of them were shot at ISO 1600. I seem to have only two choices for ISO: Auto and Hi. The flash was set to Auto, but at ISO 1600, it didn't fire very often. When I selected the choice between Auto and Off, it never fired.

I have a couple of Nikon mirrorless, cameras, but most of what I have for sale now were taken with a D2X, which while ostensibly a pro model, was never a great camera, is 12.5 Mp, and was quite noisy. I have a Z50 with a sensor nearly twice as big, and it is considered to be an entry level mirrorless by most people. A good number of the pics I sell are scans from film.

I just sighed and smiled at her...

I graduated 61 years ago, and I seldom work in my field. I just let things grow any way they want.
