#6 is my favorite for the wood and engraving.
What is the first—an instrument?

Part of a piano. Thank you!

I thought of a couple more. Quite a bit different (fun at the pumpkin patch).

I suspect that many of us who grew up in the '60's had a fascination with the space program and rockets. Said fascination is still alive in me. Here are some machines related to that topic.

I remember the first moon landing so well - mesmerising, and I really like the second image

So many machines. Irv's offering (above) reminded me of these. Here's a lunar lander prototype and space capsule photographed on a 2007 visit to the museum at the Cape Kennedy NASA launch facilities.

Was there a leak in a gearbox? 🤔
The last looks like a job for someone who is not colorblind…

Yes there was a leak in the axle gearbox, and they kept on running it til it wouldn't move anymore

The bad part is that there are many wires of the same color, you have to read tiny numbers on each wire and consult the wiring diagram to see where each wire goes. by the way, half of the wires aren't installed yet in that photo.

I think you found a topic we haven't done! Here are a few of mine. I don't think I have much machinery.

My machine/machinery challenge arises only from my having a few images of what I considered machines are, and the reflection that I had never seen a challenge on these terms. I am not an expert, or even an enthusiast, neither do I have a great collection of stunning machine images, but I know a lot of hoggers do.

Sorry - I clicked send before I was ready! Here are a couple of images suggestive of the range of technology which we might explore

Thanks for your service and that of all servicemen. I never fancied the air force - I have enough problems with just two dimensions

Those years meant a lot to me, but my part was tiny compared to so many others.
