Okay, so having half a million dollars might not be considered "rich," but here's how to do it. I don't know what Fisher suggests, but I've listed three suggestions below.

1. Be born into a wealthy family.
2. Follow armored cars and hope for a door to fall open.
3. Rob a bank.

With all that money, you'll be able to marry a Jamie Lee Curtis lookalike.

Or live poor and save a lot.

I might not have a lot of cash, but I do have a lot of credit cards. It's the American Way! 😂

This is my 24th year of retirement. I got out as soon as I could - to the day! Life is too short to be taking orders from strangers (bosses).

I am early in my 23rd year of retirement. I did a few part time jobs for a little extra and the wife worked until a few years ago. We are still growing our "nest egg" but also enjoying a little travel and sightseeing. Not rich, but living okay.

Working hard to look like Tevye and singing the song "If I were a rich man". Now if anyone can direct me to a little town of Anetevka?

Jerry,
I did the same, took the money and ran and never looked back. What good is the money if you wake up dead?

How do you “wake up” Dead??😳😳

Or like we used to say when I was a farmer. To make a million dollars in farming, start with two million.

Or the farmer who won the lottery jackpot, when asked what he planned to do with all that money, he replied that he was going to keep right on farming until the money ran out.

Yeah, but they kept asking me for my "almanack"! 😉

There is a gent in my church who grew up on a farm here in the Piedmont of NC 70+ years ago. No electricity, running water was how you got it into the house before it froze in the bucket, and open-air outhouses (one path for the boys, another for the girls). He says, "Yeah, we were poor. But! We didn't know it!"

Poor and stupid. I've known people like that.

Or the rancher bragging about the size of his ranch.

"I can get up in the morning, start my truck, and drive all day and not get to the edge of my ranch."

"Yeah, I used to have a truck like that."

Well, in his case, no electricity meant no radio, and no TV, so no way for comparisons to be made. Also, his pappy was a 'baccy farmer. (See above comments on farming.)

I figger Steve was born around WWII, to parents who had lived through the Great Depression; things would have been tight, anyway. And when all your neighbors are in the same condition...

Flashback Moment: As I was sitting on the porch of the rented house, the owner came up on his tractor. He looked over the 40 acre field attached to the house.

He mused: "My pappy planted corn here. He also planted cotton. Then he planted 'baccy. I might put in corn....or cotton...or 'baccy. But I don't know."

His people owned the whole property since the French Indian War. Even half of the acreage was sold to the USA to make up part of what became Ft Bragg.

Being rich? PC enjoyed doing his farmwork, just like his pappy. One wouldn't know about him being rich. He was a regular farmer.

For almost an hour, that was the gist of our one sided conversation. But then, that was PC's way. And drove away without giving out any indication of what he decided to put in.
