I'm pretty sure the plant is Zizia, but the bug baffles me. Blister beetle? Nice pics, in any case!
Thanks, Ron. Here's hoping your winter will be mild.
Down close and personal. Well done, sippy, as usual!

It was a great morning for a walk through the park with the camera and its macro lens and DIY flash diffuser in hand. The little wildflowers are starting to show with their insect visitors. These are a sampling of what caught my eye as I walked the path.
Wonderful Gary... very impressive
All are beautiful, but the first is so dynamic with to peddles in the moment of motion spraying forth.
Sorry for your problem with insects... Damn EPA...
I can recall when DDT was solving our problems. But my dad, still old fashioned, continued to use Paris Green (copper acetoarsenite, C4H6As6Cu4O16) is an emerald green powder that was formerly used as a pigment, insecticide and fungicide.
Great set of images. You made great use of your time.
You have an eye for macro! Excellent work, Gary.
These are beautiful - even with the insects.
👍 Good stuff! That looks like a lot of fun.
