I am not an expert but what works for me is to watch ambient light and try and photograph on overcast day or in the shade. I look for an expression or movement to capture a feeling... telling a story. Take a lot of photos learn and have fun. Looking forward to your post Jill.

Great set Jim! Greenfield Village in Michigan used to have Civil War days, but they are now discontinued. Miss them.

Thanks Kentski. There used to be a reenactment at Gibson Ranch but terminated because of gangs. This one was in Elk Grove south of Sacramento. Lots of undercover police... no one acted like a jersey. Peaceful and quiet.
