We attended the Civil War Days at the Mahon Ranch in Elk Grove, CA. It was well planned out and they put on quite a show. Plenty of seating, food, drink, etc. They provided a hayride that took you from the encampments to the battleground. We met a lot of nice people, learned a lot and had a fun day.

Some great shots. Wish I had hair like the fellow in the fourth shot. I might trim it up a bit, but then I'd still have great hair.

Working with the crew I could go downrange and get different shots. This is from a scanned slide where the blast looks better. The crew chief suggested my camera settings since I would have used a higher shutter speed. I do not know if they have the program anymore because of budget cuts and the whitewashing of history.
