My wife grew up on a farm/ranch/homestead a few miles out of Valier. This pics are a great reminder of her heritage.

Once the eggs are laid...then it's time to watch for the Grizzly bears that come out of the Rocky mountain front to gorge on the eggs. The bears were not there this trip..about a week or 2 early right now. But we have seen the bears on the island in the past.

Thanks Mark and yes you are allowed and I have never seen anyone on the island ..the fisherman generally stay in the boat This was the first time in all the years we have been fishing there that I actually walked a bit on the island.

We plan on going back next week if the weather clears....the grizzly bears should be around that area by then as well...so hopefully I get to see and photograph them as well.

It sure is a beautiful area...hoping next time over we get over to Rock City again....I be the river is high and rolling thru there right now!
