After leaving one fishing spot - we headed over to Lake Francis in Valier MT. This lake is an amazing walleye fishery .... we got our limit of 5 per person per day! The scenery is amazing and a big plus for birder's is that the island in the middle of the lake is a nesting area for thousands of birds. Seagulls, Loons, Great Blue Heron, Double Crested Cormorants, Canada Geese, Mallards and various other birds that I don't know the names of.
Once the eggs are laid...then it's time to watch for the Grizzly bears that come out of the Rocky mountain front to gorge on the eggs. The bears were not there this trip..about a week or 2 early right now. But we have seen the bears on the island in the past.
I will create additional posts for just the birds that I was able to photograph.
I miss Walleye but those are wonderful shots.
The second is my favorite in this series.

I enjoyed the Rocky mts. and cloud color images the most.
Excellent, Cindy. What could be better? Fishing and photography.

That one is kinda cool and showing just a small fraction of the birds that are on that island.

I'm so envious. Walleye don't fight like much, but no fish tastes better! Yum!

Nice set of images, particularly Storm clouds at sunset.
