Hi Rayford2 :) I am not advocating these quotations from members comments previously. I am pointing out the stupid things people say.

The two Djs made a bad judgement call and that is that, the only thing I would try to get home to them and many others, is there is a right and wrong place to play a prank..end of.

Also the british monarchy had nothing directly to do with this ,so why slag them off. regards

There was a death involved with this prank so you tell me how to lighten up. The royals should have their privacy respected like anyone else in that position and how many of the pranks you have heard have resulted in a death. You don't know how much pressure was put on her by the people in charge of the hospital of the giving out of confidential information about somebody and especially as someone who is a royal.

English Wolf's post may be a bit strong for most of us on the Hog but essentially he's right.
We live in a blame culture, when something horrible happens we have to find someone to blame. That's a bad road to go down.
Shit happens, it's not always some-ones fault.

English Wolf: (in hiding) Your eloquence suffers from vulgarity, and if you feel the need to be crude to make your point then you are insulting a large number of UHH members. The point of my original post, was to bring home the message, there is a place for a prank, the Emergency Services is not one of them in my opinion..As usual the thread has taken many twists and turns due to the lack of some members ability to conduct a sensible and informative discussion..regards

First off, let's stop referring to his prank as an afront to Emergency Services. This was a call to a private hospital that has absolutely no Emergency Services offered. I agree this was an unfortunate outcome from a prank call to the hospital ward, and the attending nurse that was not present, may have concluded that this call was bogus, but for anyone to be charged with a crime here is absolutely outragious. These radio personalities have now lost their program, and are suffering for their lack of common sense or integrity. However, this radio station did have their attornies review this before airing and they approved the broadcast and prank. Are they not more liable for the outcome of their actions? Radio personalities do this kind of morning talk-show pranks all the time. They humiliate callers and those called in ways that sometime border on harrassment and call it humor. If you are listener to these types of shows, then you are a supporter of the practice.

"It also saddens me that no one gives her respect by using her name. Her name is Jacintha Saldanha"

This woman does not deserve any respect, she has selfishly taken her own live without any respect for her children or husband, she was a waste of space as it turns out....

"Also the british monarchy had nothing directly to do with this ,so why slag them off"

If it wasn't for the fact that it was about the royals ( Kate is a royal so I believe),then there wouldn't have been any prank..

Manslaughter, really, get real, we don't bow to the lord of the manor down here...........

You read me wrong. My suggestion to "lighten up" was spoken to the nurse as was portions of this post as well, but you have to go back and read the entire post. I also said "don't kill yourself."

You got that one right. I am crude and insulting with good reasons. Who are you to comment on something you do not even begin to understand? What is your intent? Honestly, you are going to stand beyond your keyboard and state: it is for the good of everyone?

Get a freaking life. This type of individual disaster is what interest the mob, voyeurism is now part of society but we try to disguise under many pretenses. Furthering or echoing the news here is ridiculous.

Do you have any clue why this woman took her own life? Was it the result of feeling foolish? Was it the combination of many things? How can you and many other here make any guess? How can folks throw stones at anyone?

It happened. If you feel so concerned pray for the woman soul, not that it will help her now.

UHH users who are honest will themselves can see the truth, even if crude and offensive. The post was deliberate and so is this one. Stop pointing fingers toward anyone and take the time to reflect about your own reaction. I know I did.

I feel nothing toward this woman nor do I feel anything toward the pranksters or the royal family. I do not care. I care about folks next door, the old lonely lady with a pneumonia, the grand father who watches his grand daughter crash in front of his own eyes and cannot stop the wreck she is becoming. I care about my wife's crazy parents who at 74 still drive from MI to AL in two days, every year. I offer to fly to MI and drive them (flying for them is out of the question, they fill their car with whatever they think they need - They even refused the storage space for their stuff, which would allow them to fly).

That is what I care about. The rest? I do not give a rat ass simply because it is out of my control and I certainly will not judge anyone on events that took places for reason I ignore.

Were you and all the 'good folks' on UHH doing the same thing we could have interesting, human and caring conversations. Instead we have political, religious, society threads that exposes the lack of empathy.

* Take the "good folks" as BAD, idiotic, narrow minded among other things. The 'bad folks' here are the really interesting one. They are just silent, unlike me who blows up from time to time. Like me, hate me? I don't care.

Hello singleviking, I think we have an issue with semantics here, a hospital for me is a place where people are cared for and nursed to health. I think if you visited our
hospitals A&E ward you would see it as an emergency service, e.g. if saving someone who is near to death following a road accident isn't an Emergency then I dont know what is.(yes I am aware that this was a private hospital)
Secondly I am not suggesting for a moment that the Djs should be charged with a crime. I would rather that they and many others think of the possible consequence of their actions before hand and realise where a prank is inappropriate. regards..

In case anyone thinks that people like Vooda speak for Australia, let me say there are more Royalists than Republicans here (two referenda have proved that). And anyone who thinks the kind of crap that these airheads perpetrated was a "great stunt that worked" is a much better example of "a waste of space" that the Royals.
Yes, you could say I don't agree with Vooda!

I am looking for sensible opinions untainted by bigotry or political extremist opinions.

When I see those here (and anywhere else) I 'raise' my 'voice'.

Since being crude works better than being gentle I am as crude as they come... I can be even cruder if needed be.
