The nurse ( a mother of two) who took the hoax call from 2 Austailian Djs has been found dead. The circumstances of her death have not been released as yet. What are the members views on people who find it funny to, Ring the Emergency Services with these types of calls. These calls are on the increase e.g. Ambulances, Fire Engines even Air Sea Rescue Services etc are all suffering with these mindless hoax calls. When I first read about the antics of the 2 Djs I couldn't see the humour in ringing busy hospital staff pretending to be someone they weren't. I wonder how these two feel today..ps: The video is still on Austrailian network and utube.I just dont get it...

I understand that the DJ's have now lost their jobs, they are not broadcasting so hopefully they have. I hope they are pleased with themselves - they probably don't even think they have done anything wrong.

However, where were the Palace staff who should have taken the call and dealt with it, rather than leave it to a nurse who is probably not trained in dealing with the press, real or otherwise?

RIP Jacihtha Saldanha. Our thoughts are with her family.

Sorry, I misspelled the nurses name. It should read Jacintha Saldanha.

Too many unknown facts to intelligently discuss this sad occurrence ... the victim's cultural background, family background, mental health background, etc.

However, I do not think the callers are responsible for her death.

No lives were endangered by a prank call to a hospital patient's room; unlike the danger inherent with any helicopter flight. The fact that a nurse was found dead a few days later could not have been anticipated.

Based on the little bit of information we have, it seems the nurse was responsible for her own decision to take her life .... if that's indeed what happened. She also could have died of natural causes or an illness, had an accident, or was a victim of foul play.

We have since heard they've judged the nurse's death a suicide, unfortunately.
I will have to take Mister Wilson's position: There are too many blanks yet to be filled in. I don't believe we can reasonably establish the "blame". The nurse may have had other issues we're not aware of, and we have not been informed of any malice on the part of the pranksters.
All we truly know at this point is it's a very, very sad incident. I feel sympathy for the nurse, and even more, for her children.

MisterWilson I truly respect you and your opinions on other topics but not this one. You failed to take into account the "Callers" cultural background, family background, mental health background, etc.

I do not know if the Callers are responsible for her death either but these kinds of pranks are immature even for a radio broadcast. Just another kind of bullying.

Again, I mean no disrepect to you.

No offense taken.

We're all in the dark when it comes to comprehending an unusual turn of events such as this.

Bottom line, it was a prank. I've heard similar pranks on local shows, just not involving the royals. Get over it, don't kill yourself. It's a prank. The royals are just people, too. Lighten up.

The nurse was in the hospital, not the Palace.

I agree it is such a sad situation i know she had to have been devestated to have been called out on such a large scale in the public something that potentually could have gotten her fired from her job a professsion that she worked hard to be good at to be wiped out from a stunt prank call
i would have been mortified to know people would know something confidential as well not cool and i hope that the dj's were more remorseful they should be hanging thier heads down low just a oh sorry i figured they would know with our terrible accents bull o ney they didnt care they had fun when it was funny they should have told that poor girl they were sorry in person the same day right after they pranked her hospital should sue the radio station and so should her family just sayin meo62

Personally I do not consider any prank to be harmless. They are all at the expense of someone else and no one can judge what the outcome may be. We are not talking about minor, silly, April Fools day pranks here. As has already been mentioned - some pranks have resulted in deaths.

The DJs have bern "stood down" and are in hiding. I believe they are devastated and very sorry for what they've done.

Honestly I think that the woman who suicided must have had mental problems, and this must have tipped her over the edge. One stressful event too many.

The perpetrators of this stupid behavior have, and will continue to pay a high price, but I can't believe it was all their fault.

The 2 DJs are very young by the look of them. Just a case of a thoughtless prank gone horribly wrong.
