Carrying strap.

I've got to believe that once the lens weighs more than the camera body, the laws of physics say that the lens is carrying the camera and not vice versa. So putting the strap on the lens (especially near the center of balance of the whole rig) just makes a whole lot of sense to me.

If you haven't tried strapping to a tripod mount on a large lens, you might be surprised at how natural it feels. Especially since you also gain a very sturdy "handle" as a bonus.
