I am currently using both Peak Design AND Black Rapid straps. I used to use OpTech, which are much less expensive, but I didn't care for the amount of strap left on the body when you disconnected them as it was constantly getting in the way on monopods and tripods. Strap choice is kind of a personal thing. Best of luck.

I use the OpTech sling straps also, but even though I put connectors on both strap lugs, I usually only connect to one while shooting. I do love the OpTech system. Have many assorted straps and slings that serve me well. Plus made in USA.

I use OpTech on all my Canons. Works for me!!

I don't think the harness type would work for me.

I hike with cameras often and I use the Peak Designs Slide. I wear it cross body which takes the weight off the neck it keeps it from bouncing around. The quick releases are great because I’m often using a tripod or my platypod.

My heart is broken.. I purchased another Nikon dslr and wanted another Pacsafe camera strap. (cut proof and wide enough around the neck to be comfortable) Apparently, they are gone. Sad. I never expected to purchase another camera, but I'm at the stage that I just want to grab a camera body with a lens on it.

I don't like changing lenses outside of my cleanroom at my house. (Never change outdoors) Now I'm looking for a strap that can't be cut. Guess I'll have to settle for something else. (I love Nikon, but don't use Nikon straps)

OpTech has an adjustable sling strap with cable wiring running inside the length of the webbing. I have one and it is easy to use. It can be attached to their padded stretchy shoulder pad which alleviates the jarring of a bouncing camera weight on your neck or shoulder.

Consider a combination of a good strap such as a Peak Design Slide cross body and a Cotton Carrier Sling Belt. The weight of the rig would be distributed between your shoulder and waist. The camera would not swing and both hands would be free. The strap attaches to the camera's rings and the Cotton Carrier's lug to either the camera's tripod socket or to the tripod socket of the lens if you felt the weight might be too much for the camera's socket. Your shoulder will appreciate the fact that half the weight will be carried on the waist.

Big fan of Black Rapid. I have both the single and double, even though the double also converts to a single, it's not worth the bother. I like having both ready to go. I also recommend pairing it with an RRS camera or lens plate and then use the QD connectors. No muss, no fuss, easy on, easy off, and no loose screws to be concerned with.

The OpTech is generally less than other straps and it carries the camera by BOTH strap lugs for better security.

This is a great strap that I use on most of my cameras. The strap can be removed from the camera with a quick disconnect that leaves only a small connector attached to the camera body. You can connect a hand strap to this which is very handy when using the camera with smaller lenses. If you order one, I suggest ordering the hand strap at the same time. The quick disconnect is also nice when using the camera on a tripod since it gets the strap out of the way and eliminates it from blowing around and possibly causing camera movement. Both the neck strap and the hand strap will run around 30.00 which is half or less than a lot of similar straps cost.

The OP/TECH USA "Urban Sling" works great for me, and it is cut-proof: https://www.optechusa.com/urban-sling.html

Regardless of what you choose for a strap, consider the OpTech shoulder pad to add to it.

George

Is the following your recommendation as an addition to the Optech (or other) carrying strap?
