I 100% agree. Look at the first few ingredients on the label. Poor ice cream will list "milk fat solids, corn syrup" as their first ingredients. Good ice cream will list "milk, cream, sugar" as theirs.

I feel so sorry for those of you who don't have the experience of savoring Blue Bell ice cream form that little creamery in Brennan, Texas. Millions of Texans agree that it's the best in the world. Now that's not an encouragement for you to move to Texas but if you're down here sometime, stop by any grocery store and pick up some of their Homemade Vanilla. It's to die for.

It's available in parts of VA. The next time I'm there, I'll look for it.

For what it's worth, prices have not gone up. The value of what the dollar can buy has gone down.

I buy for the flavor and the taste. Some of Stewart's ice creams don't get my attention at all. It's the same with the Hannaford ice cream. I love some of it, but I wouldn't bother with other flavors.

I don't know what the regular price of Stewart's will be, but on sale for $1.03/pint is too much for me. If I were to buy a hundred pints of ice cream, I'd pay Stewart's $103 (on sale), and Hannaford $82, for a savings of $21. That would be 25 containers of Stewart's (four pints) and 33 containers of Hannaford's (three pints). If Hannaford's goes on sale, I'd save even more.
I buy for the flavor and the taste. Some of Stewa... (show quote)

Ate it for years, even though I was not a rock or Garcia fan. Delicious ice cream!!
Jazz and classical fans enjoyed it too!

I used to buy a lot of Stewart's ice cream on sale. The weekly sale price of three flavors was 3.39. Then they began raising the price, and it got to $3.69 in August. I checked yesterday, and all flavors are on sale for $4.13. Usually, when they all go on sale, the price is lower than the weekly sale price. That works out to $.03 per pint, while the supermarket ice cream is $0.82 per pint. No contest. I liked some of their flavors, but ice cream is ice cream.

We'll still be buying Stewart's Ice Cream this summer

If you really want to save money, buy ice milk. Some cannot tell the difference.

I used to get their "light" and sherbet. The prices are the same, though.

I'm pretty sure your math is incorrect. At 3 cents a pint. That would be 137.7 pints. At 8 pints per gallon that would be 17.2 gallons basically. Lol lol. Even at thirty cents a pint it would be 1.7 gallons of ice cream. So help me. What size did it come in? Lol lol

If you have not tried Tillamook ice cream yet you should. And I don't care what it costs.
I particularly like their 'Peaches & Cream" flavor.

In the summer try their 'Old Fashioned Vanilla" with Henry Weinhard's Draft Root Beer.
It is almost better than what you remember A&W tasted like.
