I really wanted a good photo of a Striped Mongoose. They were always so fast and would disappear into their dens or run off into taller grass.
But here are a few! Oh and some extras!

If a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.... How much is a 'bird in the horn' worth??? (great 'framing' of the photo)

Great pictures. The bird and the zebras are my very favorite.

Terrific set! I love the bird, especially. Would you mind telling me where they were taken? I am going to Kenya and Tanzania this summer on a 10-day photo safari (my first time there) and would love any pointers or advice you might have. Given my age and socio-economic status, it's extremely unlikely that I would ever return, so I want to make the most of this trip.
Thanks!

If you have not already gotten airline tickets go a couple days early and do a couple game drives in Nairobi National Park. It is right by the city and you can see about everything except elephants. I saw a black rhino on my first visit! The Giraffe Center (not the exact name) is pretty neat as well, you can feed them. All the above photos were in the Masai Mara as I went for migration last year. Amboseli is another awesome place, but is currently experiencing a severe drought, not beautiful and green like 2019 when I was there, many of the elephants have gone to Kilimanjaro for food. It will depend on the type Safari you are on as far as things to take. If you want to PM me with details I can help more. They accept the US dollar in Kenya. I don’t know about Tanzania, but I would be surprised if they don’t so no need to exchange currency. Malaria medicine does not sit well with me, so my last trip I didn’t even take any. Animals will be close, but you will want at least a 400mm and if you have a 1.4 extender take it. I just got a 600mm f4, huge, but glad I took it. I like up close face photos. Most of all enjoy! Again, feel free to ask more in a message to me!

Thank you so much for that help. I am going to accept your offer and PM you. Our itinerary is set for specific dates, but there is certainly the possibility that we can arrive early to see Nairobi National Park. Thanks, again, once I gather the info I will send the PM.
