I just wonder how history will remember the citizens of our current era and how they handled immigration reform.

Another 250 years from now if the future will be written by those we currently label as immigrants and minorities in this country the United States may very well be under Mexico's flag if not China's.

"where all can have an opportunity to prosper" dose not mean to come here illegally, to work illegally to send money back home legally or illegally. If the country is to prosper, it's people must prosper also.

It would appear that sending money home to Mexico is not ilegal. Walmarts along the border cater to that need for a fee. The money sent back to Mexico is the second largest source of income for the country behind Oil and that is why the Mexican government is not to anxious to stop the flow of ilegals.

But I think even you have to agree that it is the American corporations and even small businesses that encourage hiring them (at miniscule wages and benefits) and then turning a blind eye. Say what you will but I see thousands of them down here in Florida and they, for the most part, work very hard to try to make a life for their families. Most illegal aliens wouldn't be here in the first place if American businesses didn't encourage them.

I live here in Southern Ca. One of the gateway states. I can truly say I have been approached by many asking for a handout and that not one of them were from Latin America. Be they legal or not they do not ask for a handout, they would rather sell you a bag of oranges or a Tamale. I respect these Proud hard working people. Perhaps we send those that bleed us dry through public assistance back in their place. Solve two problems at once.

LOL Kit Lens, Bush tried to push for immigration reform during his presidency, guess who fought against it?

The government is puro mierda, funny how things have changed so quickly.

Yes I can agree with you about the hiring practice of American business that encourage illegals to cross our borders just for the cheap labor. Either our business are going over there for the cheap labor or they encourage cheap labor to come here. Either way we lose.
I lived in Hollywood Florida for fifteen years and I love every moment that I was there. South Florida has a large population of Cubans here legally. I know that Latinos are hard working people and for the most part are here to work to send money back home to their families. I do not blame them for that, I would too but to come here illegally and for our government to turn a blind eye to the problem is wrong and needs to be fixed, other wise I welcome them.
